Gexa Energy Electricity Plans
Gexa Energy offers residential electricity plans. Plans for Gexa Energy include:
Gexa Simply Low
Simply Low plans are fixed-rate plans best suited for medium-to-large homes that consume at least 1,000 kWh per billing cycle. Customers receive a $100 usage-based bill credit when they hit that threshold. Contract lengths available are 12 and 24 months, with cancellation fees of $150 and $295, respectively.
Gexa Stable
Stable plans are a combination of fixed- and variable-rate plans. You pay a fixed electricity rate every month for your energy usage up to your plan’s maximum threshold. Afterward, you pay variable energy rates for any electricity used above your threshold until the next billing period.
There are various Stable plans available, and the right one for your household depends on your home’s size and total energy usage.
Gexa Flex (variable rate)
Gexa’s Flex plan is best for people who plan to move soon or who aren’t sure how long they’ll stay at their current residence. It’s a month-to-month contract with variable electricity rates and no early termination fees.
Gexa Solar Buyback
The Solar BuyBack plan lets you earn bill credits for the excess energy your solar panels generate. Contracts are for 12 months and have fixed rates for any electricity you buy from Gexa. These plans are 100% renewable, meaning that Gexa offsets your carbon footprint by purchasing Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) equivalent to your home’s energy consumption. You’re charged a $150 early termination fee if you cancel your contract early.
Gexa SavEV 12
SavEV 12 is Gexa’s 12-month, fixed-rate energy plan that provides free electricity daily for EV charging from 11 p.m. to 4:59 a.m. You can track your EV charging metrics and costs on the Gexa mobile app. Early termination fees are $150. A 24-month SaveEV plan with a $295 early termination fee is also available.
Gexa EcoChoice (on Power to Choose)
Gexa’s EcoChoice plan is available exclusively on Power to Choose. It’s a fixed-rate energy plan with a 3- or 12-month contract. These plans use 100% renewable energy. Early termination fees are $150.
Sustainable Energy Initiatives
Gexa Energy has green energy plans with a 100% renewable energy content and a solar buyback program. It also offers EV plans or discounts on standard plans for EV charging.
Gexa’s partners can also install solar panels in your home with no upfront costs and $0 down for qualified borrowers. The solar panels have a 25-year product warranty, and there’s an additional warranty on workmanship and installation.

Gexa Energy Service Areas
Gexa Energy’s service areas encompass a large part of Texas’s deregulated energy market, including Dallas, Fort Worth, and Houston. Neighborhoods and cities in regulated energy areas like Austin and San Antonio must use their local utility company as their energy provider.
New customers wanting service need to enroll in a Gexa Energy plan. You’ll need to provide your service address, start service date, and personal and contact information. You may owe early termination fees to your current provider if you cancel your contract early.
