GoodCharlie Electricity Plans

GoodCharlie only offers residential plans. Its offerings include:

GoodEnergy 12

The company’s GoodEnergy plans are its most popular. GoodEnergy 12 is a fixed-rate product with a 12-month contract. It comes with GoodCharlie’s free Pet Perk benefits, which include video vet services, rescue partner donations, and a $750 emergency vet bill fund.

GoodEnergy 24

This plan is similar to other GoodEnergy plans, with the primary difference being a 24-month contract length. To get advertised rates for GoodEnergy plans, you must sign up for electronic billing.

GoodEnergy 36

GoodCharlie’s GoodEnergy 36 plan has the same core features as its other GoodEnergy plans. The biggest difference is that the plan locks in your rates for 36 months–the company’s longest term length–and has base rates that may be higher than other GoodEnergy plans.

Renewable Energy Options

GoodCharlie’s renewable energy options are available through its GoodGreen plans, with terms ranging from 12 to 36 months. These plans use 100% renewable energy by purchasing renewable energy credits (RECs) that match your electricity usage. Like GoodEnergy plans, GoodGreen plans come with free pet care benefits.

*GoodCharlie electricity plan information reflects availability as of June 26, 2026 and may be subject to change.

How GoodCharlie Rates Compare

GoodCharlie’s electricity rates are higher than average, according to Power to Choose data for the zip codes we searched.

If you need to cancel your plan, the company charges $20 per remaining month instead of a flat fee. If you only have a few months left on your contract, your cancellation fee could be much lower than the typical $150 to $300+ that many providers charge.

GoodCharlie Reviews

GoodCharlie receives near-perfect scores on Google, receiving 4.9/5 stars across more than 1,300 reviews. Customers praise its rates, customer support, and pet benefits. However, some customers were dissatisfied with the terms of the pet care service or felt they weren’t given a competitive rate.

Positive Experiences:

“I’ve had service with many electric companies, but none of them compares to GoodCharlie. It is by far the best electric utility provider I have ever had. They have the best rates and outstanding customer service. GoodCharlie is just like the “mom and pop shops” that used to exist back in the day. They genuinely care and provide you with a personalized experience that is almost completely non-existent across all businesses today. I highly recommend choosing GoodCharlie as your electric provider!”

— Evan A., 2025, Google

“I've been through a lot of electric service providers over the years, and GoodCharlie has been the best! Decent rates and their customer service is excellent. I hoped I'd never need it, but the pet perk benefit literally saved my dog's life. I couldn't be more grateful.”

— Chris R., 2024, Google

Negative Experiences:

“Be warned: You're not eligible for the program if you take your pet, who is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, to an in-person vet before you talk to ‘their’ vet… Even if you contact them while you're at the vet office, waiting for them to complete the exam, it's already too late… They claim this is to protect the integrity of the program and that there is no possible way to validate that your pet was having an emergency unless you follow this process… Even if you appeal and are found eligible for reimbursement, then it is no longer a $750 emergency fund but an "up to $150" fund and only by meeting limited, specific criteria.”

— Scott W., 2024, Google

“I was told this was a very ‘affordable’ yet quality company. When I called for a quote, it was really high! I’m in the medical district (77054), so I guess if you live in this area, they’re not affordable AT ALL! My brother lives in Katy, and he swears by them. Unfortunately, they seem to cater more toward the outskirts of Houston, not the actual city.”

— Ariana R., 2024, Google
