Data collected* are analyzed monthly to give you an understanding of the offers available and the market trends. Grouping the most common plans by category, we analyze the same plan categories every month to give you an apples-to-apples comparison.

This table compares the lowest price offered by each Retail Electric Provider that offered the respective type of plan in each month. The “Highest” row above shows the highest price among all the lowest price plans offered by electric providers offering that type of plan in this region for each month.
In the CenterPoint delivery area, ELIGO ENERGY TX LLC, V247 POWER CORPORATION, PESO POWER and FIRST CHOICE POWER are the electric providers captured leaving the game in the fixed-rate, 12-month plan category. We captured that PESO POWER is the only provider still offering another kind of plan, all the others are no longer showing any plans on the Power to Choose website. On the other hand, VARSITY ENERGY LLC and TRUE POWER started to show plans in October, explaining a 6% decrease in the table. Regarding trends, the fixed rate, 12-month plan category increased in price in this delivery area: +24% for the lowest rate and +12% for the average rate which is explained by most of the electricity providers increasing their prices in October. The variable rate category also had some increases: +17% for the lowest rate and +10% for the average rate. Here also more than half of them increased their prices this month.

As in all the other delivery areas, AMPRA ENERGY is also not showing products anymore in this first category for the 100% green plans. They are following the same path as their affiliate, PESO POWER, and are now offering another kind of plan. As in the other delivery areas, CHARIOT ENERGY is offering a new 100% green variable rate plan, explaining the +33% variation in the number of Retail Electric Providers in the table above.
Regarding trends, we also captured variations in the 100% green table: the lowest rate increased by 19%, the average increased by 10% but the highest rate decreased by 4% for the first category. The second category has a slightly different trend: the lowest rate increased by 17%, the average rate also increased by 16% but the highest rate did not change.

GEXA ENERGY offered the lowest electricity rate spot while TRIEAGLE ENERGY LP had the highest price spot in the above table. 56% of those electricity providers changed their prices in October. Among them, all but one (CHARIOT ENERGY) increased it.

INFUSE ENERGY LLC increased their prices, GREEN MOUNTAIN ENERGY COMPANY decreased it and the two others kept the same price in October.
