In the Oncor delivery area, we captured that 4 REPs (Retail Energy Providers) stopped showing offers in the first category. ELIGO ENERGY TX LLC, who was a new player in this category in September, left the game the following month and is no longer showing plans at all.  In addition, 2 other providers stopped showing offers on the Power to Choose website in October 2021: V247 Power Corporation, and FIRST CHOICE POWER. PESO POWER also stopped showing 12-month fixed priced plans, but was offering another kind of plan (fixed rate, 9-month.) TRUE POWER started offering a 12-month fixed rate plan in October making the net change -3 or a 10% decrease. Regarding trends, in the first category (fixed-rate, 12-month plans) we captured an increase of the average rate (8%) while the lowest rate and the highest one stayed the same as compared  to September. Looking at the variable rate category, the average rate increased (6%), the lowest rate increased as well (12%), while the highest rate was stable.

Concerning the 100% green products in October 2021 as compared to September 2021, we captured that, similar to the other delivery areas, AMPRA ENERGY was not showing plans in the first category. As this REP is affiliated with PESO POWER, mentioned in the non-green category above, we can conclude those two brands are following the same path and now shows 9-month contract length plans instead of 12-month plans for the previous period. In the variable rate category, we captured that CHARIOT ENERGY started offering a plan. Looking at trends for rates in the 100% green table, the first category of plans had some variations while the variable rate one didn’t. The lowest rate increased by 11% as GEXA ENERGY increased their prices in October. At the opposite end, the highest rate decreased by 5% (CHARIOT ENERGY decreased its prices) but the average rate increased by 7% as other providers from this category increased their prices.

The tables above list the lowest price in cents/kWh offered by each retail electricity provider (REP) for a given type of plan for a monthly usage of 1000 kWh. If more than one product was available from the same REP for a given type of plan, EnergySavings.com only included the one with the lowest rate in its analysis. Please note that as products and rates may change at any time in the day on Power to Choose; EnergySavings.com’s analysis is based on information captured in its single daily snapshot, and therefore cannot guarantee that every product and rate made available in the month has been captured. Please reach out to [email protected] if you feel that any meaningful data has not been captured and EnergySavings.com may, at its sole discretion, issue a correction to the report. The analysis is performed by excluding plans that are marked as “Minimum usage fees/credits”, “Time of Use”, and “Prepaid” according to the data captured from Power to Choose. For more information about the electricity plans mentioned in this report, please consult both the Electricity Fact Label (EFL) and Terms of Service (TOS) for those plans. Those documents are available on the Power to Choose site if the plan is still currently offered. The rates listed may differ if the REP has changed its pricing.
